ITAD Services & Pricing

Trace handles secure IT asset disposition end to end: verified data destruction, full lifecycle tracking, and reuse-first refurbishment. Most of what we do is free — resale of recoverable equipment funds the service — and the one thing that isn't is published right here. Secure data destruction nationwide via free prepaid mail-in kits, plus free on-site bulk pickup in select regions.

Pricing in short

Bulk on-site pickup and nationwide mail-in kits are free, verified data wipes are free, and chain of custody plus a Certificate of Destruction come free with every job. The only paid service is secure physical drive destruction, at a flat $10 per drive.

Secure Data Destruction

Every storage device we receive — hard drives, SSDs, mobile devices, tape — gets a standard data wipe with verification, aligned to NAID AAA / i-SIGMA specifications. That wipe is free on every device, every job, no minimums. For media you want physically destroyed, we shred or crush drives for a flat $10 per drive, and witnessed destruction with your representative present is available on request.

A Certificate of Destruction is issued for every job — wiped or destroyed, at no charge.

Asset Tracing

Tracing is the core of how we work — it's in the name. Every asset is logged at intake and tracked through each step of its lifecycle: receipt, wipe or destruction, refurbishment, and final disposition. You receive chain-of-custody documentation and a Trace Report for the job, included free, so you can show an auditor exactly what happened to every device you handed us.

Refurbishment & Resale

We are reuse-first. After a verified wipe, recoverable assets are tested, refurbished, and resold rather than scrapped. That matters for two reasons: it keeps working equipment out of the shredder, and the recovered value is what pays for the rest of the service. Resale revenue is shared back — it offsets your cost, which is why pickup, wiping, and custody documentation are free instead of billed.

Equipment with no resale value is still accepted and responsibly processed.

Bulk Pickup & Mail-In

Two ways to get equipment to us, both free. Nationwide, we send prepaid mail-in drive kits: sturdy, trackable packaging suited to loose drives and small device lots — ship it back at no cost and every device enters the same traced workflow. In select regions, we also schedule on-site bulk pickups: our team inventories equipment at your site and takes custody the same visit.

Scheduling: Bulk pickups are typically scheduled within the week; mail-in kits ship on request. Rush and after-hours pickups are available as quoted add-ons — contact us to arrange either.

Pricing

There is exactly one standard charge in our pricing: physical drive destruction. Everything else — pickup, mail-in kits, verified wiping, and full custody documentation — is included at no cost, funded by resale of the equipment we recover.

On our pricing approach

"Free" is a business model, not a promotion. Trace tests, wipes, refurbishes, and resells the recoverable assets in each job, and that recovered value is what covers pickup, wiping, and documentation. In practice, most business equipment retires with real residual value — enough that charging you for the service on top of keeping the resale proceeds would mean charging twice. We'd rather be straightforward about where the money comes from: your equipment funds the service, physical destruction carries a flat published fee because destroyed drives have no resale value, and specialized requests are quoted individually.
